Having owned a stock and then modified Impala SS back in 95, I can tell you that stock for stock, the Impala was a close second to the same years F-body. It had the low end torque but not quite the same upper rpm pull, hence the 260 HP rating due to the iron heads instead of the f-body and vette getting the aluminum heads. That being said, a few basic and minor mods later and it would stick with a stock Z28 or T/A throught the quarter all the way up to 138. Folding in the mirrors gave it another 1 mph. It's a pretty big sled to try and push through the air. It was an excellent cruiser, I just thought the build quality was a little lacking on mine so after 25K miles it went away for near what I paid for it. I still can't figure that one out. Although interesting, I don't see anything with any miles on it being a collector item. Maybe in another 20 years. I might get another since the price has come way down and the right deal can be had. They make great daily drivers.

It is "kinda" hard to tell but I am pretty sure it is a 4g WS6.(hood looks like a WS6)
Joe, you are very knowledgable about the b-body...I can't say I am suprised. Cheers. The funny part about the 94-96 Impala SS is that in there day they were less expensive than the beemers and yet today theyheld there value better for the most part.

That is a 94-96 Impala, and the other car is definitely a 4th gen, my guess would be a 98-up.
