How to remove tree sap from clear?

I was in a hurry and parked under a tree at school. I was only in there for 20 mins today and I came out and there was sap in a few spots on my car. I was pissed. More at myself, because I should have known better.

What can I use to remove the sap without harming the clear? I've heard about a million different techniques.

You need really strong finger nails.....sap is damn near impossible to get off. I know the hard way I tried goo gone but that didn't work and stuff that was supposed to remove bugs and tar from cars and that didn't work.....In the end it was someone fingernail that took it off(as i bite mine, i couldn't do it)

Lighter fluid or "goof off" will cut it down so that it wipes off. Then wash the car.

Well here is another testament to Zaino. The previous owner had Zaino on it and the sap came right off with some clay and soap and water. I think it was actually what they call insect honeydew because it was runny in some spots.

tree sap comes right off my cars, with just z6 and a micro fiber towel by concours......... you dont need to clay if you have the right zaino fix.
