  • 95 V6 camaro, or 97 TalonTSI

hey guys,(and girls) just a quick question, i love my camaro, but there is so much that still needs to be done to make it track ready... my friends brother is sellin his car for college funds, and gave me first rites to it... the ? is do i sell my v6 camaro for an awd turbo talon, or put the money into my camaro... imho i dont think my camaro could ever outrun the turbo talon, just lookin for insight and or opinions

It really depends on what you're looking for in a car.

If speed is all you want, then yes... The Talon will be faster than a V6 Camaro. If looks, make, and having a custom ride (after you do the work) are your thing, maybe you prefer the Camaro. They are completely different animals.

What are you looking to get out of your car? Is it also your daily driver? Are you a Camaro/F-body enthusiast?

i love the f body, and will to the grave, but its just been aggravating me that i cant seem to find parts for the 6 cyl fbody... as far as looks, i much prefer the looks of an fbody, and ive had ricers before and i thought i was happy to be rid of them... it was just the thought of that turbo and tht extra speed that made me wonder...

actually, i lied... i have been able to find parts. i.e headers, exhaust, z28 taillights, body kit, ss wing, but i dont want to waste money on them when i cant push the car past 110 without a fuel shutoff kickin in... i think if i could find a way around that(which im lookin into wholeheartedly) it would convince me to keep my fbody

If the F-body is what you truly love, I see no sense in getting a Talon if you won't be completely happy with it. Once you get the Camaro running and looking great, you'll be happier that you were patient.

I would see about getting a new computer for the car...I know tbryne can do them for 3800's but you have send them your core or buy one from them.

              Is your 95 a 3.8?

Anywho, if your car isn't fit to run over 110...don't do it. Limiters are there for a reason...ie, tires, suspension, engine.

If you're interested in tuning your 3.8 PCM, send it to http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/. They do custom 3.8 tuning...but with all tunes, it's best with mods done on your car to get the most out of your money.

3.8 have a lot of potential...albeit limited in some aspects. I have a couple of buddies with 3.8 Camaros that run well in the high 13's. It's no V8, but it's different.
