Paint not doing so well

Hey, i know there are a couple of buick owners on this forum that may take offense to that.....even if they just are 6 bangers

In trying to find a solution to its economic woes, the US has been ignoring strategies that have proved useful in Europe. When the wool industry in England was in recession hundreds of years ago, decrees were passed that, when you died, you had to be buried in a woollen shroud. A similar thing was done in France with linen.

So, for Americans, the answer is simple. Pass a law requiring people to be buried in Buicks. Not only does it stimulate the economy, but it gets those things off the roads.

BTW: Any update on the paint yet?

94, I would just tell them that I expected it to last longer than 4 months and act like you know what the deal is (tell em it looks to you like they didnt prep it right or else they neglected to use any flex additive to the paint) and stand firm! Then tell them youd like for them to either repair it better than the first time or give you a refund and youll take it elsewhere.

Well,. judging by the photos, it does look like poor prep. The worse thing you have going for you is that you didn't get a receipt and you paid cash. So, leagally they could say, "who are you?" and a judge wouldn't be able to do anything for you... If they are a small shop, that rely on "word of mouth" advertising then they will probably not do that. But the only thing that you can do is bring it back to them and ask about it. Here is a tip, get an e-mail address and we can all send them a "nice" e-mail...

Here's a follow up. The "buisiness" that I had paint it was called Steel City Auto Sports located in Shaler Township in Pittsburgh. Appartently, it isn't a business. It's more like two or three guys that do their own private work. WELL, the place is apparently closed and I'm trying to track down the owner.

I have no recipt, but I was RIPPED OFF. A small chip of paint came off and I could see the old paint under it . Guess I gotta learn how things roll...damnit

Sorry to hear that, 94. Look on the bright side, at least its not the whole car So even though you got a bad deal, it can still be easily fixed.

Yeah... This might be a losing battle.

It's worth chasing down the owner, but don't dump too many resources into the fight. With no reciept, a closed "business", and little to no proof... It's not looking good.

Chalk it up to a learning experience. Believe it or not, this will save you time and money at some other point down the road. Things have a way of working out.

You know, if you do bring it back to them, they may ask you if you go to those "spray it yourself" carwash places. Those guns operate as high as 2000 PSI and with poor prep, it would cause the flaking like yours has. So if you do use those facilities, deny it when they ask . . . . . have them re-spray it and hand wash from now on.

That glossy black was a great idea and even though it's flaking, it looks really good - great idea!
