  • red light ticket :(

    story =

kk so good news and bad news. got a red light ticket up in a small town in PA.
    quarryville to be exact.

so bad news is most likely cops up there are friends with the judges making it quite crooked system. and i know the light was yellow and just to make sure it was for my sake i asked all 3 people in my car if it was yellow or red i didn't floor it through the intersection either i just coasted and went through it on yellow instead of reaming my brakes. so the less the cop pulls me over says i ran a "blatantly red light" but i acted nice and all he said i was optimistic still gave me a ticket : (

    Key point =

so i don't pay the ticket hoping to get the court summon and they send me another piece of paper from a the court i guess but they spell my last name completely wrong went from Regner to Regmir

is there anyway i can get off on this ?

Well i don't see how they can give you a ticket if you last name is spelled wrong, i mean they did look at you license right? and they still couldn't spell it right? But i don't know for sure.

Only if everything on the physical ticket is correct. Any wrong information like name, address, yada yada, instantly discredits the law enforcement officer who is supposedly an "expert" witness. The ticket is thown out on a technicality.

Something similar happened to my friend. He was "pulled over" at a toll booth for not wearing a seatbelt. (by the way he took it off to get his wallet). So he went to court, and the officer had the name spelled wrong and incorect discription (it was dark so it could happen) and the wrong vehicle. The officer said blue toyota pickup and he's got a blue dakota. Well anyway the ticket was thrown right out. But that is a lot of things to have wrong.

I had a cop write the wrong date on a ticket. Didn't do me any good bringing it up to the judge. He made me look stupid and made me pay.

He will end up paying I say, but we'll see.

I watched a guy with the same thing in court. He produced a printout showing that at the time and date that the ticket was written, he was attending the driver improvement course that was ordered by the court the previous month. The judge dismissed the ticket on a technicality, not an innocent or guilty verdict. The issuing officer was bent out of shape because he made a stupid mistake. They were really trying to put this guy away as he was a habitual offender. I couldn't believe what I was watching.

I guess the documentation was the ticket?

              sorry.......

i have the original ticket which is semi illegible which i assume is why when the court sent me the notice that

i ignored sending in the balance on the ticket because i was told that's what you do if you want them to send you a summon to court but apparently i was wrong on the second form they sent me it sasy defendant Regmir, Ryan Sean "real name is Regner, Ryan Sean" this form says request for suspension of driving privledges for failure to respond to a citation or summons or pay fines and costs imposed it says if i want a trial i have to pay 112.50 vs. the ticket which is 106.50 this doesn't make sense to me just figured i'd post cause in America we are innocent to proven guilty so why the fine if i want to go to court that's like saying we are going to charge you extra for your rights.
