The latest edition of Fastest Street Car mag has step six in thier mods.
The best time was 7.94 at 85 mph when a TCI Street Fire converter was added to the car besting the previous time of 8.78 @83 mph.
Then a 9" rear was added due to future mods that will be too much for the stock puny rear. This slowed the car down a tenth due to extra rotating weight and traction troubles with the steeper gear.
The latest edition added long tube headers, Y pipe, and eliminating the cats. They had the best 60' with the car yet, 1.68, but they are having a problem with the car hitting the rev limiter before shifting, (I had the same problem with mine and had the shifts rpm lowered from 6500 to 6000 curing the problem). The car actually lost another tenth to 8.17 and the mph dipped to 81. So they still have some work to do. It seems anyone who mods a car will have some story to tell about some problems that popped up.
