we lost our internet friday night. called aldephia... major outage, 3 "blades" were shot, we were on one.

no net sat. rescue stuff pilling up... called again.. major problem dropped to minor... had me power down, go thru all the sequences..yada yadda... no net.

sat eve..called again... same two lights blinking on the adlephia modem rental.... had me power down, "pinged the modem"...said they didnt know what was wrong. i asked if i needed a new modem.."no....we still have a problem in your area"....

sunday morning... not net.

went to staples, bought the most exspensive modem they had...came home connected it, called adelphia and gave them the mac no., powered down the router, powere up the router and BAHM....online...at a faster speed.

4 different techs at adelphia all told us different stuff..... the lack of professional help for the internet parrallels that of cell phones.

on wit da show.

got a ton of rescue stuff to catch up on now...dahmnit... and the damnit is for the wolfdogs and goldens, not my trouble.... wonder how many ended up at the shelter cause no emails were answered...and they didnt bother calling us...although our phones have been ringing non stop.

what a weekend.... chit.

Yeah I understand what you went through. My parents rely on my to fix everything technologically. I've been on hold with Comcast and Adelphia for problems before and it's really a pain that gets you nowhere. Comcast is much worse though, the techs there are useless, you have to get someone to come out to your house if you really want some help.

Comcast just bought Adelphia here a while back. that explains alot.

I have Comcast up here. I had their original rental modem for a couple years. I wasn't nearly as fast as my DSL line at work. Didn't think that was right, so I bought a Motorola cable modem and my speed doubled.

I'm using their voice over IP for phone now. Seems to work nicely. Unlimited long distance in the US and Canada. Caller ID, call , privacy manager, and voice mail are all included for $33.00 a month. Definitely cheaper than paying those thieves at the phone company.
