hehe, the other day, my dad told me and my brother to go and get his tires rotated down at the store. I took my car and my brother took my dads, so we could have a car to get home in just in case.

    The Cars
My dad's car is a 97 Trans Am WS6 Convertible, really nice, has about 126K on it. Auto
My car is a 93 Firebird Formula, with flowmaster exhaust, K&N filter, and its been chipped, has about 89K on it. Auto

This is the first time I had raced my dad's car, I always thought it was faster but I liked to tell my dad the opposite just to get him to race.

    The Race
So the first time, we line up and I don't see the light turn green, so he gets a car length on me.
On the way back, we line up, I see it turn green this time, we are like dead even I am just barely creeping up, my front wheel is probably a yard ahead of his front wheel.
Next race, it was a curved (WS6 is nice) road and he had the inside track, kinda unfair.
Raced till about 60 on both races

So the conclusion is, I might have him in the 1/8th or 1/4 but the higher the speed the more the ram air effects the engine. I'm so happy though, means I might have the fastest car in the family, out of two 97 TA convertible (only one is WS6, the other is a 6 speed).

ram air barely does anything superior untill you reach speeds around 100mph... and even then, its not that much.

Most of the gain that comes from that model is from the better flowing intake dcting and larger filter. The base model's filter and intake tubing is a bit restricted. I think tests show that "ram" air isn't effective until 3rd gear and up. Cool air, now that's a different story.
