  • Black rims on dark blue car?

My significant other wants a set of Black 18" rims for her 2004 Nissan Altima. I was wondering if you guys think that that would look alright. I have seen black on black before and haven't been impressed and thought that black on dark blue would look equally as bad. The car is about this color blue
1999 Ram Air Trans Am. M6

SFC( not sure what kind), drilled/slotted rotors, K&N air filter, all free mods, 3" Borla cat back exaust, electric exaust cut out, NGK spark plugs, royal purple motor oil, and Zaino .Maybe more. I find more stuff done to it everytime I look at it.

The 96 Grandsport Corvette was just such a color scheme. Looks pretty good to me.

Ok, you asked for my opinion. I don't care for it. I think brighter wheels would look better on a blue car.

I agree. Maybe I'll just get some black rims for her car that would also look good on my car so when she decides they look ugly the TA will get some new shoes Merry christmas indeed!

I'm assuming your kidding as they wouldn't fit both cars... Front drive and rear drive respectively.

As for my opinion, it depends on the rest of the car. Is there black trim all around it? Would they match anything else? Are her windows tinted dark? All these things can make or break that look.

Another option would be to have them painted and clearcoated to match the car.

I was trying to crack a little joke. As for the rims they are black and the lip of the rim is still chrome color. the car itself is dark navy blue and the windows are tinted with a mirror tint.

I think I will just end up getting her a set of chrome rims for her car and maybe in the near future get a set of black ones for myself. Ladies first I guess.

                      I figured as much.

If the lip of the rims are chrome, it might not look so bad. The windows having a mirror tint, however, would look better with something lighter like polished aluminum or chrome in my opinion.

I was thinking the same. I want to get her what she wants ( the black rims) as a suprise. I just dont want her to be disapointed when she see's them on the car. Maybe I will just give her some money and let her make the call.

Also, since you're asking for opinion...I'm not into the "wagon-wheel" look either. 18 inch rims are too big for that car. Looks silly in my opnion.

Well I plan to get some Black rims. I plan to get the ZO6 rims in Black. 17's though and my car is Dark Blue. In My opinion i think it looks great. Saw one at the race track once. 18's should be ok. Its an Import.

Your car is almost exactly the same color as her altima. I am still undecided; it's been my experiance with the ladies that either one I choose will be the wrong one. I think I will just stick to giving her the money and let her choose. I think those black ZO6 rims would look good on my white TA though!
