I was just talkin to one of my buddies friends and we eventually started talking about cars. It first started off with his 1992 ford explorer which had a smashed headlight and a nearly flat tire that he was driving on. Then he decided to tell me how he used to have a 98 Eclipse. I was like right on those are pretty nice. I told him that I once saw one online that did the quarter mile in 7.3. Then he told me how his ran it in 6.5. It was one of those things that happen to a conversation and you are just like GOD DMMT WTF MAN you just want to scream. He then proceeded to tell me about his friend who had a skyline that he sent to japan to get customized, and that came back with over 2000 hp.

Just had to get this out.

Ya, I have a little trouble believing that one too. I've helped one of my ex roommates dad pit his dragster quite a few times. This is a full on dragster, 850CID Dodge engine, running pure methanol with NOS.

I was there one evening when he and the car were just ON. He won the final race of the night with a 6.63.

see this kid is 20 years old, driving a 1992 explorer. he has no money and no job, he moved here from poland like 8 years ago.

He said it was his daily driver and that he down shifted from 5th to 2nd while going 180mph on the highway and blew the engine and trans.

While in highschool there was this guy telling people that his cousin was non other then Michael Jordan. That claim was lofty at best however seeing that he was hispanic made it a bit more far fetched.

I almost feel bad for people like that. They aren't happy, and feel the need to build themselves up with impressive, non-exsistant material items to feel better.

Been there...what really gets me is when you do call them out and correct them...Its like now I am an a-hole because of it. Our friend's boufriend is that way. He tries to talk to me about cars and stuff but most of what he says is wrong, I hate to correct him but I used to all the time. Up until I found out he thinks I am a wannabe know-it-all... WTF??? Im like "sorry bro but that Jeep did NOT come with a 350 (Chevy) from the factory", or "Dude, helicopters can and DO hover over water all the time"(he had a real good argument about this one too, something to do with the can go at a rate of 1 foot out 1 foot up).....And, btw, if I hadn't mentioned it, I am the A-hole for sayin it...... Oh well, life goes on.....
