  • 275 tire on a 10" rim?...

    275/35-18 Tire

    18" x 10" Rim

Is this too narrow of a tire for this rim? I am going with Cooper Zeon's and that is the widest tire they make.

its not a matter of how it will look......... its how it will perform.....

The different tire and rim gurus of the world have standard specs that apply to the fitment of tire sizes. the tolerance on passenger car tires is +/-.5". in your case, you are ok.

Thats the only thing I dont like about Cooper. They dont seem to offer many sizes. Glad I will be OK anyway.

WOW! I don't think I have ever seen a tolerance that big before. Our standard drawing sheet tolerance is +/-.005

People where I work routinely use the phrase "mil" for .001" . They say things like the tolerance is plus or minus a mil meaning +/-.001" . True story, somebody turned in a drawing to the shop and put a dimension that said X.XXX (whatever it was) +/- a mile. Boy they gave him a hard time. "What are you going to measure that with you car odometer." LOL

but we are talking about a tires section width mounted on a rim....... given the overall deminsions of a tire, thats not that bad. on light truck, it's 1.0"
