      GMInsideNews has a couple good videos including one of a red G8 GT that's shot outdoors.

      About six years ago Lutz mentioned that Pontiac would be an American BMW. Until this car I figured that was all talk.

        ya thats nice but it cant replace the GTO they should keep the GTO, give it LS7 power and make it more aggressive to look at.

        Also isnt 6.0 the LS2 engine? I thought that rated at about 400hp. In this thing its only rocking 360.
        ???

          It's the 6.0L. I'm thinking smaller cam running on 87 octane. If I seem excited about this car it's because this could lead to a resurgence at Pontiac. It's everything the Grand Prix should have been.

          Here's an entry from Wikipedia. Looks like Ken was right about the increase in HP. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if something more powerful found it's way into this car. With the L98 it's getting to 60 in about under 6 seconds for sure.

          L76

          See also the Vortec 6000 L76

          L76 was originally Holden's version of the 6.0 L Generation IV engine. While early models lacked the displacement on demand technology found on some versions, this feature is enabled on the 2008 Pontiac G8. The engine also meets Euro III emissions requirements. Output is 348 hp (260 kW) at 5600 rpm and 376 ft·lbf (510 N·m) at 4400 rpm for the Holden variant, and 362 hp (270 kW) and 391 ft·lbf of torque (530 N·m) for the version to be used in the G8.[1]

          Applications:

          * 2006-present Holden VZ Commodore

          Future Applications:

          * 2008 Pontiac G8

          [edit] L98

          For the tuned-port Generation I engine of the same RPO, see Chevrolet L98

          The L98 is a slightly modified version of the L76, devoid of some redundant hardware relating to displacement on demand. Power increased to 362 hp (270 kW) at 5700 rpm and 391 ft·lbf (530 Nm) at 4400 rpm.

          Applications:

          * 2006-2007 Holden VE Commodore
          * 2006-2007 Holden WM Statesman / Holden WM Caprice

            If they got rid of the stupid holes in the hood above the radiator, I think it would look great. Why does Pontiac always feel the need to put holes everywhere and body cladding on everything?

            One other thing I noticed was the fuel door was on the passenger side. What up with that? Or is that because this is a photo of an australian version or something?

              what pontiac needs is its own supercar (or whatever u wanna call it) chevys got the corvette, dodge has the viper, fords got the gt..

              i know pontiac uses chevy engines but they need to make an original engine and build an original sports car, something every pontiac lover can be proud of

                Video:

                Lutz talks about the G8 and how it differs from the Commodore, how the structure differs from Camaro, what Zeta brings to GM as well as mistakes made with the GTO.

                Enjoy!
