Gonna try and get my first tattoo this coming weekend. I am going to get the jump man symbol on the back of my right calf in N. Carolina blue. I am a huge MJ fan and I'd rather be dunking a basketball then anything else, so it will have some kind of personal meaning to me. What was your guys' first tattoo(if aplicable)?

SFC( not sure what kind), drilled/slotted rotors, K&N air filter, all free mods, 3" Borla cat back exaust, electric exaust cut out, NGK spark plugs, royal purple motor oil, and Zaino .Maybe more. I find more stuff done to it everytime I look at it.

I have the chinese symbols for "Eternal Friendship" with a tribal band wrapping around them on my left upper arm.

I share this tattoo with 8 other people who are my best friends in the world.
Each of us has the same lettering done by the same artist at different places on our bodies and with different accompaning tattoos.

I don't know if you were asking for advise but here's some anyway.

With tattoos, like many other things you do get what you pay for. You're asking an artist to put something on your body you'll have forever not trying to find the lowest bidder. Take a look at the artist's portfolio and if you can ask to see some of their actual work on other clients or friends.

Tattoos have 2 natural enemies. Sun and Time. You can help with the first by being smart and a good artist should be able to hold off the second by doing a top notch job from the beginning.

Best advise, DON'T. It's a lifetime thing and you will hate it when you get older.
Jeff is telling it like it is.

Any of my older clients say the same thing. They wish they didn't have it done in the first place.

Well in my opinion everyone is different when it comes to tattoo's. Not every older person wishes that they wouldn't have got it. Some people like making them public some don't. I personally don't show ine unless I want to. Better that way for interviews and such. Personally I say if it's something that you really want then go for it. Just make sure that it's what you want because as it was mentioned earlier it is for life. you can get it removed though, it's just expensive.

My first tattoo was on my back across my shoulder blades. My older brother and I are really close and we got the same exact tattoo don eon the same day as a brotherly love type deal.

My second tattoo stretches from the top of my left shoulder blade and goes to an inch below my nipple. Both of them are tribal designs. I'll try to get some pics.

I will agree with the other guys that if you get one, make sure it is something that you are going to still like 20-30 years down the road. I only have one, it is a cross on my left shoulder, just a simple stone cross with a bluse sash draped around it. It is a symbol of my faith, something I feel strongly about, so I know I won't hate it when I am older. I even made sure to get it high up on my shoulder so that when/if my skin stretches as I get older then it won't drop too far. I have had mine for about 10 years now and still really like it. Every now and then I think about getting another one, but I'm just not sure what to get. You should go down to Miami and get one of the guys from Miami Ink to do it. Chris Garver is the man,

I couldn't disagree more. Most people I've talked to that have tattoos are proud of them. Some may wish they had done this or that differently but I have only heard a couple of people say they would go back and not get anything at all.

I did have an old man tell me he didn't like his tattoos (I think he had 4), 1 of which was the classic Navy anchor on his forearm that had faded into one black mass. Funny thing, he could remember vividly where he was and why he got every one which led to many other stories from him. For someonw who didn't like them they sure were a link to past memories for him.

The exceptions are mostly names of exes that need to be covered or otherwise "fixed".

A friend's dad gave me this piece of advise: Get a drawing of exactly what you want correctly sized and colored etc. and put it up on your bathroom mirror. Every monrning when you get up and every evening beore you go to bed look at it. After 6 months if you still like the design you'll probably like it enough to have it on your body permanantly.
