  • Another "fun" thread!!

Gotta love 'em, might take your mind off work for a few
This thread may (?) have been done before, but oh well. I wasn't around

So, we want to know what your very 1st vehicle ever was....I mean the very 1st one that you ever bought and registered in your name! Let's hear about and maybe see all the beauties and beaters people had for their firsts. Dig up those pics if ya got 'em!

So, mine I bought when I was 17, a junior in HS.... a 1977 Olds Cutlass with the 350 Rocket motor for $800. That was my beast and my joy, and retired it when I was 19 for my T/A. Didn't have it too long, but it was the best teenage fun
(Sorry for the attachment, if I knew how to upload these stinkin' photos I would!)
    Attached Files
1996 White T/A, LT-1 auto with only aftermarket Flowmasters, shift kit, and a LG Motorsports G2 cold air kit.....that's it! She can't eat all the 'Stangs but will die trying.

    Currently on the clock: 120K

87 chrysler conquest, my first love. Picked it up when I was 17 for $300. At first glance driving past the lot I thought it was a 944. Once I turned around I could see that it wasn't but still had no clue what it was. Ran fine but had a beat up front end and a small coolant leak (slight slice in a hose).

Didn't know the first thing about it other than it was turbo with a stickshift, and fully loaded. I loved that car. 2.6L intercooled turbo, 5 spd, all leather, climate control, independent rear suspension, RWD. Thing was torquey as all hell.

Before her day was done she had a fully rebuilt motor, JE pistons, aftermarket head, BOV, all new intercooler hard pipes, bigger turbo, full exhaust, etc... Ran like a raped ape. Had some new valve springs put on at a shop and dropped a valve a month later. Destroying the bottom end. Put it back together but it wasn't the same. Loved that thing until the day she died! Kept it but had to sell it cause neighbors kept calling the police on me and they were going to tow it away.

My first car was a used 1979 Formula, T-Tops, Gray on White with tri-color pinstripe, carmine red interior, Olds 403, Auto, gold snowflakes, rally gagues etc. Was bought for me shortly after I turned 16 and eventually, after I turned 18 I bought it from my Mom (got a REALLY good deal, Thanks Mom!) and registered it in my name.

First car I bought completely on my own was a 1992 Grand Prix which got traded in for my 1997 Z28.

After getting the GP I kept the Formula as long as I could but similar to what raroZ28 says, the apartment complex I was living in started giving me sh** about leaving it parked so I drove it 300 miles back to Mom's house. 30 miles away the water pump gave up the ghost. I limped it the rest of the way in, replaced the water pump that weekend and sold it a few months later. Wish I could have kept her but she had the cancer really bad (t-tops were the main culpret, they leaked from the first day I had the car). Needed more TLC than I could have provided.

I'll try to dig up a pic.
