  • walbro pump failures...

Got a walbro pump about 1.5 years ago. Pump worked good for a day, ended up dying. Took it back and got a new one. Now, after about 20k miles, it's dying again. Car stalled a few times, and the pump is making a weird noise.

I've heard about numerous walbro pump failures. Not sure why it's the go to pump. I'm not sure what I'm going to do if I have to replace it, but I sure as hell will not be picking up another walbro.

I've got dual Bosch 205LPH pumps, one in the stock tank location and one on a sump off the back of the tank. The outboard pump came with my NOS dry kit in 1994, so its over 12 years old, the "new" one in the tank is now 7 years old. The seem to be almost indestructible. You just aren't going to find a "kit" to put it in the stock location like the Walbro, but it can be done.

Which bosch pump are you running? Did you have to fab it to run it in the stock location or something? I am definitely not going with another walbro. These are worse than a raman'd taiwan pump. The problem is intermittent right now. I'm guessing I'll need a new pump sometime next week.
