a good frind of mine...a lady who has put every cent she makes pracitcally ...into her rescue http://www.fullmoonfarm.org she's burnt out.... and I know why... I'm trying not to reach that stage, but i have no right to, i have not been thru what she has........
some of you that went to skyline drive in 2002 have met her.. she's a good person...
but you know..as you read this... it could apply to just about any breed........ maybe not all of it...but the core..yes...

A wolfdog will die today...
Somewhere in North America, at least one wolfdog will cross The Bridge, because of irresponsible ownership and back yard breeding.
That death may be caused by:
Vehicle - from running at large.
Euthanasia - by Animal Control or Shelter.
Bullet - by a neighbor, from running at large.
Bullet - by owner cause they cannot deal with the animal any longer.
Pack fight - by greedy back yard breeder having too many animals in one small pen.
Another animal - because of a fencing breech.
Poison - the neighbor doesn't like it!
BECAUSE RESCUE IS FULL!
The rescuers and sanctuary people need your help.
WE ARE OVER FULL.
THE FOSTER SYSTEM IS FAILING.
WE ARE BURNING OUT AT AN ALARMING RATE.
This is not a plea for money. We can throw all the money in the world at the rescue problem, but it won't fix it.
THIS IS A PLEA FOR CONSCIENCE!
If you can make room for another animal, we NEED to hear from you. If you can't, then help us out in other ways - take out an ad in the Thrifty Nickel, the newspaper, or weekly rag about responsible ownership of WD's - and any canine. Discourage breeding - a moratorium, if you will. {If someone is going to breed, you'd better be willing to take the animals back for the next 15 years, cause there will not be a rescue network to clean up YOUR mess.} Volunteer at a rescue and help get fencing erected, or funds raised. Get involved in the fight against breed bans.
Most importantly, if you cannot help in this CRISIS, do NOT offer lip service if a rescue is forced to close down, or animals are euthanized because there isn't a place for them to go, or the rescue has to KILL animals because they are so screwed up by idiots and a$$holes and have no quality of life.
RESCUE IS AT CRITICAL MASS.
If you don't rescue, don't breed.
If you can, adopt. If you can't, volunteer.
And most importantly, don't take this opportunity for your own agenda! Home checks and adoption contracts are strict and necessary. We cannot afford to RESCUE our RESCUES. Since we cannot enact licensing to prove responsible ownership, we do the best we can with what we have - and what we have is responsibility for the animals. So, suck up, and meet the requirements to adopt an altered animal!
