just wondering what u guys would do.... my dad wants to supercharge his 2005 silverado 1500 with the 5.3 vortec.... we were wondering which would be the better buy, a roots type or a twin screw type... were looking for something that will not totally destroy driveablity but still grab you and throw you back in the seat.... were not considering centrifigul because its a pain to instal and we dont want the lag... plus we tow everyonce in a while... thanks for the help!!! looking forward to getting your inputs

When I was at Chevy, There was an Avalanche that came in. It was rolling on 22's, Yet I slammed it and snapped my neck back. I was like "WTF" (sorry) but that thing launched. I park and pop the hood and there you go, Whiple S/C. Honestly, It pulled like My T/A. It Had Headers and Electronic Fans. I asked the guy if he had Internals and nothing at all besides Injectors. It was the 5.3 Vortec. I recommend that and believe me, you would not be disapointed. It had to be over 400hp. It also had a custom Tune.

no different internals, and the twinscrew makes boost in the charger by compressing the air, while the roots kinda just sweeps it in.... i think

So tell me what exactly are you refering to with the "lag" of a centrifugal supercharger. If you want the better drivability and less wear and tear with lower intake temps, be smart and go with the centrifugal supercharger.
