I wish a couple people would have gone for broke and charged him in a group and got the gun away from him. I mean it's easy for me to say that not being there, but it's just incredible to think he got away with killing 30+ people with a couple pistols.

On top of that, he shoots a couple people in the dorms or where ever the first place was, and they call it in to the police. Noone is warned about a shooter on the loose, and sure enough a couple hours later he kills 20+ more in a classroom across campus. What was the rationale behind not warning at very least the faculty of the school? You've got a guy running around loose with a gun and he has already killed people, you need to warn the whole town.

And yes, if properly licenced people were aloud to carry firearms, half of this stuff would get stopped alot sooner with alot fewer dead. I don't care if it is in a school zone, bank, courtroom.. laws agaist carrying there are not going to stop a criminal or a kid who is insane.. just honest people who could have a chance at doing some good instead of getting shot because they are unarmed in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I heard an interesting conversation the other day. For the people who don't like or believe that people should be allowed to have guns, you should put stickers on your house and car saying that you don't believe in guns and don't have any. Look at this from the view of a person who wants to rob you. You see one house with a NRA sticker on it and another with a sticker saying they don't have a gun. Which one do you think they are going to go in to? So you won't put a sticker on your house because you know you will be making yourself a target. Isn't that admitting that having a gun makes you safer?

Damn I hate this. This makes me sick to my stomach. 32 young adults with their entire life to look forward to. Ugh

I can't believe that most of the people who have posted on this topic are not completely against guns, but actually for them. Usually, groups like this are rather liberal and tend to like the idea of banning guns, which will not solve anything. Thanks!
EDIT: I need to clarify, I meant banning guns will not solve anything. I did not mean getting a group of liberals together will not solve anything

One point that I would like to make, is, G%& D@#$ media!!!! We're not even 24 hours since the shootings, and the media and students are already questioning the actions of the administration of the school. Come on people, we still don't have all of the facts! One student even was quoted saying that the school administration "has blood on their hands". WTF. Have we forgotten that a person woke up yesterday and decided to kill as many people as he could, before shooting himself? It's like the killer doesn't even exist.
I can't believe that the school has to spend time now defending what it did 24 hours ago, instead of investigating what we don't know yet.

This whole thing has me sick; sick for the families that this tragedy has affected, and sick for the way the media is handling this.

Now, maybe after an investigation (in a couple of weeks/months), we may find that things should have been done differently. Then we can start to learn from this and say what should have happened. But I am not going to sit here, now, so far removed from the situation, and judge the actions of professional people, because I *think* I know better.

I'm not directing this to this board, I'm directing it to the general media. Sorry for my rant, but I needed to say it. Sorry for my implied language.

Very True. I along with my whole Family are Democrats and You can Bet we have 5 guns. Handguns and Shotguns. Its not that people dont want to get them b/c of the kids and this and that, b/c I have 3 little sisters. Does it worry me that they can look for them and get them, Not for one second. Its that Parents Now a days cant contro their kids. This Punk Regardless of race was screwed from the start. Yes the day is going to come in which they will say it was the schools fault or his parents treated him bad. Give me a break. I think its pathedic how people cant take responsibility for their actions. Most of it has to do with how they were raise. If you cant teach your kids whats Right and wrong then you should not be a parent. My father since I was small had a gun in the house. Why? I dont know. He never went shooting or anything of that sort but he did. Never once did I pull it out to show my friends. It was just in the closet. No trigger Lock or nothing. But I knew if I was cought even trying to get it, I was going to see the shinny side of my fathers Belt. I understand the mind of someone that's depressed and thats unstable but the fact of the matter is, Blow yourself away. Its the easy way out and they were not Mentally strong enough to deal with it, but the thing I dont understand was why make others suffer. Pretty much an attention Whore. (Sorry) I had a G/F that used to hurt herself so I would give her sympathy. Its really stupid. Chances are this guy was a single child and was used to being the center of attention.

Im all for guns except for friggin assault rifles. You can defend yourself better with a handgun under pressure than one of those.
