  • LT1/LS1 In Late 80's Monte Carlo SS ??

I have a buddy that has a Monte Carlo with the 302 engine. Its making a lot of ticks and dings. He is not happy with the power (considering its on 20") so he wants to rebuild the engine. I told him if its possible, Get a used LS1 or LT1 with trans for around $4000. Would the engine Bolt right up?

An LT1 would but an LS1 wouldn't. I don't think I would do that because of the Opti. I would get something like a ZZ4 355 HP first.

I would buy a used Lt1 and convert it to a carb setup. It would be a lot cheaper than that ZZ4 if done correctly. Not to mention the cool factor.
