  • 02 stang Gt vs. 87 T/A

My friend just bought a 5-speed 02 GT with some true duels on it and he wants to race me.

I have an auto 87 t/a with a 91 vette TPI. I have my FI swapped for a performer manifold and a holley 4 and some flowmasters.

    what do you guys think???

i know he can prob take me right now
    87 T/A
    91 vette TPI
    ditched FI
    Edlebrock performer
    Holley 4
    flowmaster cat back
    magnaflow cat

Just got painted black with some gold decals.......Doin burt proud

He might take you, Unless he's a real bad driver, he's going to take you, but then again you have the Vette TPI. At the same time those engines were not the highest output engines around.

p.s. This is a None tech Thread.

Its all good man . Yeah If your want to really be fast, save some more money, Don't put money in the 87 and get yourself a 4th gen. You can find tan LTx series f-body for around 5k. Then you would be saying, Rus-tang what??? Unless your going with Internals (ie. head work,Cam, rockers), All those things you mentioned are not going to Help all that much.

yea ive been debating whether to put money in my baby or sell her for a fourth gen. I know fourth gens are faster, but i love third gens more. I lose sleep over this sometimes lol.

Idk, it feels to good to have one of the few third gen T/a's in my town.

Keep it and save up for a 4th gen.

my buddy had a 91 RS maro, 305 tbi he spent less then a thousand dollars(including the tuning gear) and he kept up with a LS1 intake, gears(3.73s) and exhuast(headers and on back). all he had was edlebrock TBI intake, ported TBI unit, Open Element, Ported 416 heads, zz4 cam, headers, cat, 4th gen exhuast w/ 80 series, t-5 swap and 2.73s. so its up 2 u, im sure if he had 3.73s his car would be nocking on mid to low 12s
