700? is the z06 really pushing those kind of numbers now?

Regarding horsepower, Lutz said: “We’re certainly not going to be at 600 because some of our competition is at 600. So, 600 is a number that is not satisfactory for us. I would say comfortably in excess of 600 is the way I would term it.” As for 700 horses, “that would be a stretch,” Lutz continued. “Tom Stephens [GM’s head of powertrain] would say, ‘Maybe in the second year.’ ”

Sweet. No real "need" for a Z06 with the lessor model being that stout.

I gave a deposit on an SS/Blue Devil/Stingray/Thingymajig the day I picked up my C6Z. Now, lets see if they come thru with the goods. The car must have 650 horsepower and must weigh less than 2900 pounds for me to keep it. If not, I will either refuse it or I'll turn it.
