I had a crazy idea for my quad. On ebay they sell those small electric superchargers. Now on a car they mean nothing, but what about on a 350cc single cylinder. Would that actuall create useful boost for extra hp.
Just a wild idea lol, i wonder if it would work?

I doubt it. It's not volume you need, it's pressure. Have you ever taken a fan and put it blowing side down on the ground? It just sits there because the air is blowing back around the fan blades. There is too much clearance between the fan blades and the housing. You would need a high preission housing to get any pressure from the fan.

OK that was not a great example. How about this, take your hair dryer, turn it on high with no heat. Put your hand over the exhaust. It doesn't take much pressure to keep your hand there. You need a fan that will blow your hand off. Superchargers are made with very tight tolerances between the fan blades and the housings. I think some blowers have Teflon on the blower vanes to make them seal better.

Where I work we are using one of these fans http://www.rotron.com/ that builds 4.5 psi and they costs $3500 each.
