is that what I think it is?

EDIT: It is! Is this an image from GM or just an artist's perception?

Depends, what do you think it is?

I found it on a Corvette site. Could be a chop but you just never know.

That just might have been the fastest reply I've ever had on this board.
But the image name has "SS" in it.

Women tell me I'm too fast.

I really hope they don't call it an SS. I'd rather it be a Stingray but I don't care as long as they build it.

That's going to be confusing since there is an aftermarket company that has been calling there car a Z07 for years.

                Those are some HUGE calipers.

There were some other pictures over at digitalcorvettes.com, but they aren't as nice as this one. I like the idea of the clear area in the hood over the engine. Can't wait to see how it turns out up close!

                    Here's something interesting:

The 08 Corvette will have a 430 hp motor (LS3) as the base. The 505 hp LS7 will remain the top motor. The debut of the Z07 (?) will have a yet to be announced engine (LS8?) with upwards of 700 hp, most likely supercharged. The following year, the C7 will be released. It will most likely come standard with the current 505 hp LS7, and the 700 hp engine as the option (this comes straight from the GM rumormill).

What I find interesting is the potential for the LS3 to appear in the G8, the GTO, and the Camaro, as the LS2 at 400 hp will be nearing the end of it's run by 2010.
