  • Oprah's Favorite Things for Summer

Yup. I'm really interested in what Oprah thinks whats 'hot' for Summer. And you know it's so important, it's front page news. When are these people going to learn...

And most younger people get their news from ET and the Daily show. My daughters boyfriend said one day he got his news from the Daily show. I looked at him and said "that is sad". I don't think he understood. I told my daughter he isn't the one for her. She said she knew. LOL

What's even more sad is it's a comedy channel.

Hey now, There is still a couple of us out there that care about what's going on in the world. Do I agree that my generation is more on the "stupid" side, Heck yes. You have to remember one thing when it comes to a lot of this Oprah crap and all these shows now a days that are all directed to woman. Its b/c the Number of single mothers has sky rocketed and those kids are raised without a father figure, which in return turn those kids into Pansy's. Everything you see on TV with the exception of the History channel and SPIKE TV, and the Discovery Channel, everything else is about interior designing and girlie things this and girlie things that. It makes me sick. I'm young so I'm very much in my prime when it comes to dating, and I refuse to Date anyone that comes from a single parent home. Why? B/c its nothing but problems and issues and problems. Every relationship I have had with a girl that has a healthy background was nothing but smooth sailing. So I don't know. Call me ignorant but I hold my point I believe.

                    ha ha ha.

What happened to the days were you were able to make fun of each other and nobody got offended. One of my favorite movies is "Eddie Murphy Delirious." That movie is great. Nobody got sued and everyone loved it. Now Imagine something like that came out today? It would never hit the stands. People would protest and the Law suits would start up from all the different groups. People need to learn how to laugh about things and not take offense to everything. Its Retarded!! And thats coming from a minority.

                      WHOA hold on.

I know that Jon Stewart is not the best source of news. But really he does a solid job of exposing "top stories" for what they are, which is typically a load of BS. When fox news issued their "BREAKING NEWS" alert the program I was watching cut to Alberto "Gonzo" testifying before a commitee. Fox leeched onto that thing for a half hour when the daily show went and showed it for 15 seconds for what it really is: Gonzo saying i dont remember-recall.

Fast Forward to two minutes or watch the whole thing.

Just because we laugh doesn't mean it isn't true.

                      EDIT:
And the article: Remember when the first man died in Iraq? it was breaking news all over the place. And when the first group of soldiers died in a helicopter crash, how that was breaking news? The US has become desensitized by this war. Our poor solidiers dying has become too routine and sadly, aren't acknowledged as much as in the past. That's why Opera was the highlight.

Thats because a lot of people do not agree with the war. I for one dont agree yet I still think its amazing how those guys go out there and protect our freedom. I take that ability and exhaust it to the fullest!

Are you trying to justify Jon Stewart as a good source of News and information? Come on now. I'm 21 and I know all that stuff is crap. Your greatest source of information/news is the net or News paper, Which can now be found on the net as well. Watching something on Comedy Central and trying to pass it off for News is not right.

                          ConElite,

Please don't misunderstand my comment. It wasn't an attack of any sort.

It was an O&A reference. For those that don't know, on the Opie and Anthony show (XM Satellite radio) they have an "Inappropriate Bell" that they use from time to time to acknowlege they just made an off color joke and as a reminder that it was just that, a joke, not said with malice or to offend anyone.

I happen to love the old Eddie Murphy stuff too. Aunt Bunny falling down the steps and shoe throwing mothers. Some of the best bits I've ever heard.
