I never use the center console one. In the Firebirds there is a swing-out one on the passenger side of the center dash. Since I'm 6'3" and my arms are long it is the perfect spot for me. Putting a drink in the center console and shifting would be a bear with shifting.

You had the older console...newer ones, as Red stated, had a swing out one on the passenger side. You can do a console conversion and gain an extra cup holder. I'm not sure if the older f-bodies had cup holders for the rear passengers...they tend to be my choice for holding cups too.

I switched my 96 one out to the 97 up style, and gained 3 cup holders, the swingout and the two rear ones, not to mention the one behind the shifter is also deeper. However, the one behind the shifter is reserved for change, cell phone, or can drinks only, as everything else gets in the way.

I solve the problem by never eating or drinking in my car. And I certainly don't allow my passengers to eat or drink in the car either.

There's another good solution for a good cupholder, and it works in any car. Make sure you have a passenger (preferably one easy on the eyes ) and make them hold everything. lol

No I'm not kidding. These RAM mounts are pretty cool. They are how the police mount their computers and other crap in their cars. They are solid and do not shake so they are good for display screens. I have my ham radio mounted on one. If you ever watch the tornado chasers they use them for mounting all kinds of stuff like their video cams on their dash boards. I put my auto X-ray OBD scanner in my cup holder when I want to see the real time data from the computer like knock retard. It's right under the light in the bottom of the rear view mirror so it works perfect at night. You can see the scanner in the cup holder in my sig below and above.

That's definitely a Camaro...its hard to miss the vent and pass. side airbag cover

That's a pretty nifty mount there Jeff. This is the first time I've seen one, but nifty -the-less
