That pressure is just what it says, max. Max means max. Just like your motor is not meant to run at the max all the time. There is usually a tag on somewhere on the car with the mfg recomended tire pressures. Most American cars it's on the end of the drivers door. On my wife's old Beetle it was on the inside of the fuel door gas flap.
2002 Electron Blue Vette, 1SC, FE3/Z51, G92 3.15 gears, 308.9 RWHP 321.7 RWTQ (before any mods), SLP headers, Z06 exhaust, MSD Ignition Wires, AC Delco Iridium Spark Plugs, 160 t-stat, lots of ECM tuning

    1995 Z28, many mods, SOLD

yeah it's not on my car though. pretty much all the stickers were removed by a previous owner.

Find someone with a similar year and see what their sticker says.

The tire pressure printed on the side of the tire is the pressure required to get the maximum load capacity out of the tire. It is NOT the recommended tire pressure for every application - only those that fully load he tire to its weight rating. Typically, the wide, high performance tires used on these cars are not loaded anywhere near their maximum load rating.

Do NOT just inflate them to that level - it may be enough to reduce traction, promote excessive wear on the center of the tread, and affect overall handling.

By Federal law, ALL vehicles must have a tire load rating tag, which shows the tire size that was originally installed on the car at the factory, and the vehicle manufacturer's recommended inflation pressure. If you are missing this tag, take the time to do the research and find the correct inflation pressure for your vehicle. Anything less is negligence.

i hope it's not 30 psi like your cars. my front tires look low as hell when they're at 30 psi. when my front nittos are at 30 psi it looks like they're nearly half flat. and that's with tons of weight reduction done to the front of the car.
