Which should I go with? Should I go with black and red striping-

    Or black with red stitching-

I need it to match the interior, which I'll be doing over, including these seats (in black and red)-
    http://www.corbeau.com/products/fx1pro/fx1pro.shtml#

My carpet is ripped, so I plan on replacing it with a custom lightweight sound deadening material/ carpet job.

Here's the sound deadening material. Only 27 ounces per square yard- http://www.yourautotrim.com/jutecarpetpad.html

And I was thinking of using Ozite for carpeting. I found stuff which only weighs 18 oz per square yard. I don't know if that would make very practical carpeting though. I'd imagine it doesn't hold up for very long and that it would be a PITA to vacuum. Well, here it is anyways- http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c...1963_103787389

Anyone know how many yards of each I'd need for the full interior? Thanks everyone

I think black with red striping, it will go better with the seats and such.

I would probably look into pre-molded carpet considering that f-bodies are lumpy and bumpy all over...it'll be pretty hard to cover the transmission tunnel, cat hump, foot wells, rear seats without some serious stitching.

I know they have molded carpets...

Are those custom made items or do you have an online source you can share?

I've looked into pre molded carpets, but they're generally $400+. With this stuff (carpeting plus sound deadening), even if I needed 4 square yards of each, It will only cost $84 and weigh 11 1/4lbs. I doubt I'd even need that much though. I figure any place I'd need to sew anything together, I'd do in a horizontal line going across/ under the seats and console. That way, most of the line would be hidden anyway. As for tacking it down, I think this stuff should do the trick- http://www.yourautotrim.com/perhittrimad.html

All in all, this should cost under $100 and weigh under 10lbs. That's 25- 30lbs lost, plus 35- 40lbs from the racing seats. Not a huge deal, but when you factor in the carbon fiber hood I plan on getting, a dry cell battery, plus the removal of the rear seats, spare and jack, that's a decent amount of weight saved, plus my car will look better with a new hood and fresh carpeting. I know I've had big plans in the past which never went anywhere, but I'm working 60 hours a week now. I'll actually have the money this time around.
