        Beautiful car.....

Are they actually calling an "AMC Rambler AMX"? I thought it was just "AMC AMX", with the AMX being a shortened wheelbase Javelin. The Rambler was a conventional mid-size coupe, wagon or sedan. The Rambler American was a compact car.

Are you sure about the 141k miles? That seems like it would be falling apart with that many miles on an old AMC unless it's been rebuilt a bunch of times.

Wow! According the Wikipedia link, the AMX only came with (up to) the 390 V-8. I would have sworn a friend of mine had a 403 (?) in his '68 AMX- it was a very serious drag car- not only had no rear seat, but he had installed "X" bracing, sort of the beginnings of a cage. He used to run skinny 15" VW tires on the front, which spent part of the quarter-mile in the air any way. A beast of a car, scary fast. For a reference, think about putting a built big block into one of our F-bodies......

I remember the Rambler Scamblers, just a Rambler American sedan, what I would have called a compact or mid-sized car, back in the day, with a big block 390- came from the factory with a cool red, white and blue paint job and a mailbox hood scoop. Again, think about a big block in a sedan not much larger than a BMW 2002-

Anyone recall the Rambler Marlin? AMC's answer to the Barracuda, another fast-back. Nice looking car-

let me know when it goes up for sale and i'll let them know. not sure if they'd be interested in anything that pricey, espically since it would be turned into a 9 sec street car anyways.
