as in u mean closing its doors? ur joking right? nascar is one of the biggest sport type events in america. and with the COToday yes it looks like it has a cheap APC wing on it but this past daytona 500 was prob one of the best in years.

Somebody want to swing by and bid on one of those cars for me? How many low mile 2006 Trans Ams have you seen lately?!?

Seriously, having one of those cars would be so cool. And you know that the only people that will bid on them will either be the drivers that have actually driven them or museum owners. You could probably score one for a good deal, stick the motor in your 1969 Charger and go remake an 80's TV show or something.....

And whoever thinks NASCAR is going anywhere has lost their mind. The joining back up of IRL and CART is still not going to get them back to the glory they once had before they split, and it will be a very long time before any form of racing can catch up to the popularity of NASCAR in this country. Round track racing is in some form in every state in the continental US (dirt, short track, go-carts, even lawnmowers), and the only racing that is even close to it's appeal is drag racing. But drag racing is only mid-4 to mid-7 seconds of excitement, then downtime until the next race. Stock car racing has something happening all the time.

Yeah but for half of the drivers they bring in replacement "road course specialists" that know how to make right turns.

Fixed. now its viewers are corporations, and it's visitors, are in boxes. The rest are trash for the viewers to put up with. Ever since big corps became involved and especially the changing of rules, cookie-cutter cars with their *insert name brand here* styling, etc. Nascar has gone to $*!3s ! the viewers will drop as the ones that grew up with Nascar, to them it's dead and a walking zombie... but it will won't die

yep pretty much. both my dad and my grandpa bitched up a storm about the COT and toyota joining nascar. i already quit watching it because of the COT. why did they need to put a chin spoiler and a wing on the car? the cars could handle alot better if nascar would simply let them add more downforce. but nascar feels the need to regulate everything, right down to handicapping the different brands because one does too good. this statement pretty much sums up nascar for me, a fellow fbody owner wrote this.

"hey look theres a chevy, wait no its a toyota, no it isnt its a ford.... wait a miunte, they're all the SAME"

ding! as soon as a road course comes up you see a bunch of non nascar drivers in the race. which usually doesn't matter because my boy jeff gordon still dominates most of the road races, and if he doesn't it's usually stewart.
