  • Where to Spend my money?

    I got a bonus at work and i am going to invest in an upgrade; either handling or power upgrade.

    My car is a daily driver and i only do occational aggressive street driving


    What would be the best bang for my buck?
    ~~UPGRADE VALVETRAIN~~
    >Port/polish my heads for ~$600,
    >AND cam, valve springs, retainers, 1.6RRs, pushrods etc. for~$750
    GRAND TOTAL: ~$1200

    Or something else? Suggestions?

    It depends on what you want. To me being a daily driver means for it to drive good. The 3 best things I did to my 95 were.
    1. Upgrading to LS1 brakes
    2. BMR sub frame connectors
    3. BMR sway bars.
    4. You may laugh but I like the sound of the Dynamax exhaust on mine. It was by far the cheapest exhaust too.
    2002 Electron Blue Vette, 1SC, FE3/Z51, G92 3.15 gears, 308.9 RWHP 321.7 RWTQ (before any mods), SLP headers, Z06 exhaust, MSD Ignition Wires, AC Delco Iridium Spark Plugs, 160 t-stat, lots of ECM tuning

    1995 Z28, many mods, SOLD

      +1 on the BMR SFCs and Sways...pop a shock tower brace too.

        Sounds like a good plan of attack! i might go with ST sway bars, they are big, solid and 242.99 +shipping for both fr(1-3/8") and rear(1") together.

        As far as the SFCs which is better recommended, the Double Triagle configuration for the extra $$$$$ or the standard straight Tubes

          BMR's web site has some packages that will knock off some $$$. I ended up getting a free shock tower brace ordering a package.

            The only thing with the packages is that they are super pricey and i wouldn't be able to choose what goes in the package.

            SFCs and Sways are what i will order for now. Where is a good place to look at the LS1 brakes?

                Besides, i don't have a savings account, just a checking acct and there is no interest on it so it just sits and gets dusty lol.
