We had a huge storm yesterday morning. It was pretty much like borderline tornadic in strength. There were tree limbs and all kinds of debri all over the place afterward. Anyway, it came through right around 3:45am, and I had to be at work at 5am. I left right after the storm was over jumped on the tollway to head to work. A few miles down the way I had just taken a drink from my water bottle and looked back up to see what looked like a pedestal from a pedestal sink (I have no idea what it was, but it was big and not in the least bit soft) laying right in the middle of my lane. I had no time to react and slammed into it. It mad a pretty loud BANG when I hit it, and the pedal started feeling rough right after. So, I exited off of the tollway and stopped on the side of the road to take a look. The only problem was there were no street lights and it was raining, so seeing the underside of the car wasn't exactly easy. Anyway, everything looked ok, as far as I could see. So, I drove more slowly and got back on the tollway, kicking myself for not paying attention. By the time I had taken the exit onto the highway towards work, the car started pulling hard to the right. So, I pulled over again and could see that the tire on the front passenger side was completely flat. So, I get out the jack and spare and get it changed, in the rain, in the dark. Then, I realize....my spare is flat! Talk about mad. So, I had to limp it for like 5 miles, past 2 gas stations whose power was out, so no using the air pumps there. Finally I find a station whose power was on and then realize that the valve stem cover is practically glued onto this 8 year old spare that had never left the back of the Camaro. It took me about 10 minutes and alot of twisting to get the stupid thing off. Anyway, I finally get to work at 6....an hour late, and soaking wet. Oh, and this happened to be the day that our Regional President was visiting the store ( I work for Whole Foods Market). It was such a fun way to start out a 16 hour work day. Anyway, I am now about to head up to Discount Tire to see if I can get the tire repaired and get that ugly donut off of the car. Lesson learned: Always keep your eyes on the road, especially after a storm that has debris all over the roads. And always make sure your spare is full of air, cause you never know when you will need it.

Then, it gets better. My wife and I were watching TV earlier and all of a sudden. *POP!* *POP!* Dead. The TV took a dump and wouldn't turn back on. So, I unplug it and then plug it back in and try to turn it on and it made a horrible buzzing sound that was almost definitely elictricity arcing somewhere inside. So, I unplugged it as qucik as I could before it exploded or set the apartment on fire. Yeesh. All of this less than a week before we close on our new house. And being that we are moving to a new house from an apartment, we need a lawnmower, a weed wacker, a garage door opener, some furniture, and now.....a tv. My luck has got to get better soon. Anyway, the wife and I are off to look at a $100 TV she found on Craig's List. Hopefully it won't be a fire hazzard too. Oh, and for anyone interested, I am accepting donations for the "my luck sucks" fund. Just shoot me a PM if you are interested in contributing to this worthy cause.
