In this case, it was a pretty safe environment, that is what I meant by you pick your spots.
There were clear and careful places to pass. F-Bodies have a lot of understeer. It was pretty easy in the Z06 to just go under them when they pushed it a little bit. We never were near the limit.
I do 99.9% of my spirited driving at road courses. But, I have to admit to .1% when I shouldn't.
But I calculate my risks.

If you notice, we're in agreement that the point is well made. Too many times the car is pushed in the wrong environment. When I used to run Corvettes at Sebring, I could blast along at close to 140 on the long stretch and it felt more secure than rush hour traffic. At least I knew that the drivers around me weren't going to do something incredibly stupid. Not to mention that the track has already been cleared, no animals can run out in front of you, no hidden entrances with a car pulling out........ and EMTs are standing by just in case.
