Just now it was 98% yes and 2% no.
The interesting thing to me is the supreme court was a 5 to 4 vote. it doesn't take much figuring to figure out that the supreme court and the people don't think the same. Thank goodness for the 5 intellegent people on the court. It should have been 9 to 0.

I find it incredible that there are those in the govenment who think that if guns were outlawed, criminals wouldn't carry guns.

Yeah, usually the politicians (and the press) think the average citizen isn't smart enough, or responsible enough to own a firearm- they think only the police should be armed- nice if you live in a gated community, or have security guards in your building- not so nice if you have to defend your own home-

The 2nd amendment is the one that allows all the other enumerated rights to be defended- without it, of the other ones would last very long-

In the preamble to the constitution (IIRC) it says "All power resides in the people" meaning that the government only gets the powers that we, the citizens, are willing to give it- not the people getting the 'rights' that government is permitting us to have- and the most basic right for anybody is the right of self-defense-

No offense to those in law enforcement, I have the greatest respect for what you do, but just being an officer doesn't automatically make you the brightest bulb in the pack. I've been on the range shoulder to shoulder with our local law enforcement and it's scary how many have very poor firearms skills or knowledge.

Gated communities do nothing but give people a false sense of security. We have a gated community right down the street with a golf course that meanders throughout. The golf course spills outside the community onto the main road. All one would have to do is hop on the fairway and they are in their backyard.

the handgun ban only works on law abiding citizens... if a bad guy wants to get a gun, he'll find one and buy it.
