got this in my WRR (rescue email) server...... talk about tears to the eye.......but warmth to the heart... thought I'd share...this is what rescue is all about............
"Hi there Ken.
I’ll bet you don’t remember us. Me and Sierra, but you helped match us up
in 2004 and we are doing great.
She is 4 and ½ … and the loveliest animal I ever lived with… we all know we
don’t own them.
I was living in South Carolina then and moved to Washington Sate about a
year ago.
So, here in Vancouver we go to the Dog parks daily and she is really well
socialized. Shem is still more wolf than dog, but gets along really well.
She is somewhat obedient…. For the most part.
She does all the normal commands plus she will halt and drop to the ground
on an emergency when directed. …(All the dog owners at the park are jealous
of her training.)
She is a lot easier to train than my full wolf was for sure.
We have a great happy life together, and since I was supposed to die around
2005 according to the Drs. And … I’m doing great too. I think the
friendship and love from her has really saved my life.
The picture you made for me of her is my favorite and I’m enclosing it for
your memory. However she is a strapping 80 lbs now, white with red points
and just beautiful.
