When I got mine it had the original Goodyear run craps on it. You couldn't punch it at 30 and not light the tires up. Leaving the TC and active handling on was a must. Since I put the Bridgestones RE960s on it, it doesn't make any difference whether it is on or off. With it off I can punch it from a dead stop and it won't spin the tires (automatic). These tires really hook up. I hate Goodyear tires.

I get this all the time in my '68. People are always like 'hey nice Camaro.' I generally turn around, look around the parking lot, turn back and say 'what Camaro? All I see is that Firebird.' Though every now and then people get it right.

The quick fix for all of this is to drive such an old, beat up POS that people won't even bring up the subject.





But.......rememeber that people who aren't enthusiasts really have no clue, they have more of a casual interest and most times just want to talk. I try to be kind and patient, even with that there are some that will just drive you nuts.

Hey Ken, do you ever use the Z-5/2 on your window glass? I tried it for the first time the other day and was surprised I never thought of it before. I always use the Z-6 on glass. It's amazing how little I use my wipers in light rain now.

Funny story...

My neighbor's son, 16, stops by my house as I'm working on the T/A...

First thing out of his mouth is..."Wow..is that a Firebird...I didn't know you had a Firebird????" "When did you get this?"

After spending 10 minutes explaining to him what it was and what WS6 on the license plate means, I "schooled" him on the world of F-bodies. I then told him I bought the car when he was 3 (1995) and have had it ever since.

To his amazement, he stated that he doesn't recall ever seeing it before (probably because as of 6 months ago, he didn't have a girlfriend. It's amazing what exposure to estrogen does to the brain of an adolescent male...makes them suddenly realize car's exist (LOL) and girls like boys with REAL cars.

Anyway, he explains to me that since he was a kid (like...wasn't that yesterday ) he has always wanted a Firebird. He also wants to know if they still make them...ughhh. I asked him if he wanted a V8 or V6...to which he said a what???


Anyway, I thought you folks would get a chuckle out of this. He's really a nice kid..


BTW - at least I can die in piece now knowing I've swayed an impressionable young lad over to the F-body world and away from Mudstains...
