  • Help me decide . . .

Alright to explain I'm going to be replacing my waterpump in a week or so and since I've got a nice pretty OEM gm waterpump I decide it would be a good time to paint it. I also might be taking care of my intake manifold leak depending on how frustrated I get with changing the waterpump, opti and installing long tube headers

Anyway what paint does everyone recommend, seems duplicolor is the most used, just curious if there is a better one?

And what color do you guys think I should go with?

Red and Black seem the most common but I kinda want something different (although I'm also going to be running OTVC red plug wires)

So post up . . What do you guys think???

P.S. Exterior is Black on my car
    Red 97 V6 (STOCK), Black 96 Ram Air WS6 M6 5.0 PRO, skip shift delete basicaly stock, for now . . .

I'm a sucker for subtleness...black would be my vote. No wild colors for me...quite frankly, I'd leave everything stock and just clean/polish all that you can.

      +1

      I love subtle as well.

On a hot rod, I've always preferred ghost flames over in-your-face, bright red and yellow flames.

      I'd go with black.

Another vote for Black. No crazy "Chunti" colors. Thats what we call tacky.

          I'll take a different approach...or what I did.

I painted the stocker silver, almost like it looks unpainted, just shinier.

Then, I painted the cover to match the rest of my engine compartment, cobalt metallic blue. I used polished Stainless Steel bolts to dress it up nicely. Subtle, but just flashy enough for me to like.
