9.. Which company makes the winner of the 2008 “Green Car of the Year” award?

Answer: The Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid is the winner of this award.. How could a full-size SUV defeat the media darling Toyota Prius? Read the link below and you will discover, “What’s equally eye-opening is that the Tahoe’s 21 mpg city fuel efficiency rating is the same as that of the city EPA rating for the four-cylinder Toyota Camry sedan. ”

Did you catch that? A huge, full-size SUV from Chevrolet that gets the same city mileage as a 4-cylinder Toyota Camry!! Chevy obtained this remarkable achievement through the use of its 2-mode hybrid system, a technology that Toyota does not have.

I would have thought Nissan would have won out on number 2. I work for them, so I see how many recalls they have. Volkswagen must be in the high teens or twenties to be beating out Nissan.

I was told that the Camry is the most sold car in the U.S. and the Corolla is the most sold car in the world, and if that's true then that's a darn shame. However it doesn't say all that much...it wouldn't be the first time i have witnessed a MASS bad decision.......

Perception. This is what drives people to make poor decisions. While there are many examples, Honda comes to mind. I'm not bashing Honda's, but how many times have you heard people praise this brand and pledge loyalty based on perception? I've always owned a Honda and always will.... GM and Ford have some very respectiful offerings across many price ranges. To be closed minded and not look at domestic brands is foolish. The time to support our US brands is here and now. I shutter to think of the day when one is not available for consideration

I've only owned GMs...added the Vue to the stable. I admit, the GM products of yesteryear dragged.

Detroit made a complete turn around...I hope consumers do the same.

GM built some really wretched cars over the years- remember the Cadillac that was on the J-body (Cavalier) frame? Or the early Citations- they were rugged, but not much fun to drive- For too long GM has equated small cars with cheap- they never really understood what Saab or BMW was about- performance at GM meant a big-block and 400 HP-

Their higher end products used to lead the world- top line Buicks, Olds and Cadillac owed nothing to anybody- fast, quiet, luxurious, and reliable- how many GM cars have you seen that are 20 or more years old, still running strong?

My biggest complaint is their attitude towards the customer- they seem to think that they knew best, knew what you needed, not what you wanted to buy- they have killed off so many successful models, like the Camaro, rather than put the money into developing newer models that already had a built-in market-

Their powertrains are second to , still world-class. Now put that into a reasonably-priced body, and let us pick what options we want, and don't want. Treat a loyal customer like what they are- the conduit that keeps you in business- I hope they can keep building the cars I have loved for over 40 years-
