I wanted a camera mount. So $39 best buy tripod, zip ties and a L bracket. I installed a L bracket under the rear console as a mounting point for the tripod. The legs are inbetween the seats. Its VERY stable. Just needed to adjust the height and angle after that a bit.

Just a thought......now they have miniature sized 2.4 ghz video cameras. The camera portion is smaller than most cell phones, the transmitter electronics are about the size of a pack of cigs. Way less bulky than a tripod, much less weight and the beauty is the camera can be mounted anywhere.

I bought one of these just before Thanksgiving. Stores up to 1 hour video. Quality is pretty good. Has the mounting thread on the bottom but with it being so light in can be mounted in many places. When done flip out the USB connector plug it in and transfer to PC.

So much for drag racing. Our group got there at 6:30am and there was about 200 cars already.........and the wind showed up. 50-60 mph gusts. It was canceled at 6:45am
