  • i'll be leaving may 19th...

I leave for Basic Training on May 19th! I joined the Air Force reserve and will be a hydraulic speacialist. I go to lackland AFB for 9 weeks, then Sheppard AFB for 9 weeks and 1 day(AIT). After which I'll be working at Dover AFB on the C-5's. I am freakin excited! I was just hoping to get into a new job scene with this, as the pharmacy business is really wearing thin on my nerves.

Well if there is anyone from the wichita falls area, let me know! I'll be there for 9 weeks. I would love to meet some texans and see what the area is all about, it would be that much better with a guide from the area who's into f-bodys and cars Well i guess there wasn't much to this thread but i couldn't contain my self. Oh and in addition, i went to the firing range for the first time on thursday. Freakin awsome! I shot a glock 36 .45 cal compact. I gotta say, I was into that. I pretty much wanted to get some firing experiance before i joined the military. Next will be an M&P M-4 that my friend owns. Will get some firing time on that before i leave. Any way guys, wish me luck, I only got 2 months before my life changes (hopefully for the better)

That's awsome. I'm glad for you.

I'm thinking about joining the Army National Gaurd myself. I talked to a recruiter and took my practice test last month. I would like to do it right after Summer.

DJ, the national gaurd is a pretty cool option. You can get some really good benefits from the state. I'm not sure how IL is but here in DE the national gaurd pays 100% of the tuition for any state college or university. And University of Delaware's Tuition is something like 18K per year for in-state. You should check out some of the benefits.

And thomas, def. man. I would love to check some car shows!! And hit the track a few times too

Hmmm sounds like the same advice my dad offered me before I headed off to Rutgers. Funny thing...I only heard " party too much" and then I glazed over...

                          Congrats, dude.

If you're going to be working on C-5's, I guess Jeff and Tracy are all set!

Seriously though, the C5 is one huge bird. Watching them take off at Stewart AFB is amazing. It really never looks like they'll get off the ground.
