  • Question for the vette Boys

Ok people I will be getting a Corvette soon. But until I get it, what is a good vette site to join to learn all I can. The last vette I had was a 1975 and they have changed a lot. Thanks for any help you may have to offer.

This is the one I always used...you will find everything you ever wanted to know.

...there are some flamers on the board, which can get irritating. I haven't been on it in about 3 years so I don't know the current membership.

...I can't wait to get mine again...too many other priorities (for awhile).

Way cool! I bet you can't wait.

          These guys http://www.renegadecorvettes.com/Sit...Corvettes.html
were part of the Corvette forum. They got tired of the childish flaming people on the Corvette forum and decided to make their own. Most of the people live in Gwinnett but there are a lot from around Atlanta. I have met several of them and they are pretty good people. Steve (SJSZ06) came out to the Galaxy Diner Cruise in with his wife. He drives his car every day. Nice normal guy. They have a monthly dinner "meeting" at the Ryan's in Buford. The have mountain cruises once a month. But let me say that their cruises can be "aggressive". I haven't been on one in a while but they were going to start meeting then splitting into 2 groups. One that wanted to cruise and one that wanted to push it and boy can they push it.

You should come up to the www.buyavette.net place and look around. Those guys know their Vettes. I won't take mine any where else for work if I have to take ie somewhere. They have a mechanic who specializes in C5s and C6s. I have had 2 good buying experiences in my life. One was when I took my mom to Atlanta Toyota. The other was buy-a-vette. Let me know when you go. I can always use an excuse to go up there.

Thanks guys. I am looking for a 05 and up. I am not in no super rush because the new wife said a retired guy does not need 4 cars.So I sold the Camaro and am going to sell the S10 Blazer and the Formula.Plus with the wife's company which I am working with on and off is keeping me busy. And I will be traveling a lot soon to New York and out to Denver and New Mexico, so there goes most of this summer. Oh I was down at buyavette.net, nice people and Jason is looking for me.What I am looking for is a Black on Black rag top with the paddle shifter. If there is anything else I should look for in a vette let me know.Day to day driving I am driving a company P T Cruiser.

If you want the paddle shifters you have to get an 06 and up.
Either 07 or 08 you could get the optional exhaust that you can switch between quiet and louder.
I like the NAV radio. It just looks better in the dash.
I also really like the Monterey Red Metallic. They have an 06 ragtop in that color. http://www.buyavette.net/c255.html

Do you want the stock suspension

              OR

              F55 Magnetic Selective Ride Control

              Original Option Price: $1,695-1,995

Standard on all 2003 50th Anniversary models and optional on all others through present, F55 was another evolution of the original FX3 suspension. F55 used a magnetic shock fluid with iron particles, which would align in such a way that it affected flow rate when exposed to an electrical input. This is in opposition to earlier versions of the adjustable suspension, which adjusted the ride by mechanically varying the size of the orifice through which the shock fluid flows. This new design allowed the damping rate to be adjusted 1,000 times per second. F55 continued virtually unchanged with the debut of the C6, although software improvements were made once again in 2008.

              OR

              Z51 Performance Handling Package
              Original Option Price: $1,495-1,695

The Z51 option continued with the arrival of the C6, but with several important additions. Heavy duty cooling equipment was once again included with Z51, which now equated to oil, transmission, and power steering fluid coolers. As far as the suspension itself, Z51 included stiffer springs and shocks, and larger sway bars. However, brakes were addressed as well, with Z51 now including larger cross-drilled brake rotors. Tires were also upgraded to Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar EMT runflats.

Thanks for the info guys. But seeing how I will be buying a used one, the options on it will be whats there. As long as it's Black on Black rag top with the shifter an low miles and a good price I will have to take the options that are on it. Mark I will get with you, that would be nice. I will be stopping in Castle Rock to see a friend so I will be kind of in your back yard sort of.Thank again guys.
