My car has ugly flag decals that look like they were painted on the side, after 6years I cant stand to look at them any more, whats the best way to get them off? The decals are already fading and the factory paint is showing its age so I wouldn't mind if it got messed up a little, but those decals have to go!

A heat gun will make them let go. You can try a hair drier but it may not get them hot enough. Of course if they are clear coated over them you won't ever get them off.2002 Electron Blue Vette, 1SC, FE3/Z51, G92 3.15 gears, 308.9 RWHP 321.7 RWTQ (before any mods), SLP headers, Z06 exhaust, MSD Ignition Wires, AC Delco Iridium Spark Plugs, 160 t-stat, lots of ECM tuning

Yep, try a heat gun/hair dryer. I have heard that Goo Gone works pretty good although I have never personally used it. Google it find out where to buy. We use 3M General Adhesive Remover. It works great on anything except fresh paint.

I think Goo-Gone may have acetone in it- tough on fresh paint- another powerful solvent, if you have adhesive, is carb cleaner- usually xylene- again, not very good for paint- don't let it sit there very long-
+1 on the heat gun- another 'pro' tool is a rubber wheel in an air grinder- sort of like an eraser- the soft rubber is worn away without hurting the paint very much-2001 Z28 A4 - 160 deg t-stat, 3.42 gears, WS6 sway bars, rear springs and shocks, UMI SFC's, Torque Arm and STB, leather Firebird seats, Borla, SLP Y-pipe and lid, ZO6 cam and springs - 332 RWHP and 346 RWTQ, not bad for 'almost stock' - work in progress
