Can sombody make sense of this

The company I work for is forcing everybody to use 2 days vac. a month, started off being just 1 in Jan., 2 in Feb. and, 2 in Mar. At the original meeting they said all the factories in our district would be completly shut down 2 Fridays a month so they could save 10% by everybody using it at the same time. The next day there was a notice posted saying "do to customer demands we will be working half shifts on Fridays instead of closing the plant". So since Jan I've been working every other friday with half my shift and visa versa, and our temporary employees can work 5days a week. The real messed up part is they have been paying people from other shifts overtime to make up for the lack of production on Fridays. Today they had a new notice posted saying anyone who hasnt used half of there vacation since January have to use 1 or 2 days in April WTF!!!!!!!

As much as it sucks man, Be happy you at least are still employeed. Its so hard out there right now.

Its just another way to cut down on costs. Everyone is cutting any corners.

They, Instead of being you for that friday, they substatut it for one of your vacation. It tricks people into thinking, "who cares, We still get paid," but in reality your pretty much loosing an extra 2 days of pay a month.

Your right but they are also paying people overtime to cover for me, because although production has slowed down we still need a full shift.

Thats the part that makes no sense at all... we can't afford to pay u to work, so we'll give this guy time and a half to do the same job.


unless of course his 1.5 time is less then ur regular time.

No, I've been there for 5years I'm probly some where in the middle of pay. Its not just me every hourly employee has to do the dame thing. Every other week when I work Friday I have the option of working overtime and do.
