1997 Pontiac Grand Am, 216k+ miles and still moving fast
2004 Pontiac Grand Am SCT, but 35k on the clock
1983 Male Driver, driving Front Wheel Drive only, for now
The whole time-travel theatrical device is trite and much-overused. And I did not like the wholesale modification of so much of the "original" story line.
Not to give away the plot, but if you did not already know about the Romulans, would this movie make any sense?
Definitely go see it though.

maybe so...but IMO it was time for an overhaul and with an alternate time line this is now a very different Trek universe.

Can't really complain about much of it...thoroughly enjoyed.
Saw my first movie in IMAX...well worth it if you can find one in your state. Only $14 ($4 more than normal) and it's in a different league all together.
To be honest, doing it the way they did allows future movies to follow their own timeline, without regard for what occurred before. Obviously, it's the highest grossing movie already, (Star Trek series), so someone must be enjoying it. J.J has already signed on to make two more...
I saw it a couple weeks ago and my expectations weren't high. I was pleasantly surprised though. Watching the movie was like riding a roller coaster. You don't want to miss a moment because the plot moves at a thousand miles an hour.
