Yes, my '95 LT1-powered Caprice, a police 9C1 model was running strong at 150 k miles, but starting to rust- there was no similar replacement available from GM unless I wanted to drive a truck- and I already have an S10-size Blazer- I feel that GM really dropped the ball on that one- they should have stuck the LS1 into the B-body, and continued selling fleet vehicles-

Likewise, the Camaro I bought to replace my Caprice was quickly orphaned, model killed off by GM, who, for a few years was not really building an enthusiast's car, other than the $50 k vette- Wonder how many people had to get Mustangs to have a V-8 and RWD while the General dithered?

Even in the trucks- GM has always built great drivetrains, reliable, powerful,- and used low grade materials for the interiors and switch gear- lessening the feeling of quality-
2001 Z28 A4 - 160 deg t-stat, 3.42 gears, WS6 sway bars, rear springs and shocks, UMI SFC's, Torque Arm and STB, leather Firebird seats, Borla, SLP Y-pipe and lid, ZO6 cam and springs - 332 RWHP and 346 RWTQ, not bad for 'almost stock' - work in progress
