  • Cobalt???

I've been looking for a new car for about a month stickshift is the only must have. I've looked at just about everything and keep coming back to Cobalts although I've never really had any hands on experiance with one nor does anybody I know. Online reviews are kinda mixed personally I dont care if the interior looks "cheaper" then a civic its a damn economy car, a Civic or Corolla same year and mileage would cost almost double I love mazda6's but I'm trying to stay around $7,000-

    Opinions/experiances?

I know 2 people with Cobalts. 1 is several years old. It has a stick and almost 100k miles. He hasn't had any problems at all. BTW he ordered a New Camaro SS and it was built about 2 weeks ago. Just for the call now. Another friend has a 2002 Z06 bought a Cobalt last year. Yea it's new so no problems.

The only weird thing about them is they have electric steering rather than a mechanical pump. The guy with the Z06 was teaching his wife to drive and all of a sudden the steering locked up while trying to parallel park. Driving around so slow the power steering motor ran the battery down. He had to stop, rev it for a couple of minutes then drive it around normal before going back to teaching her to park. Weird.

    1995 Z28, many mods, SOLD

I've heard about a possible recall on that, all things considered they look like the best deal for a decent stickshift car. I'd look at some f-bodys but I wan't more of an economical dd w/fwd.

My nephew has one and it's about 2 1/2 years old. He hasn't had any problems other than the standard GM brake warped rotor issues..
