  • Its Official.....USAF here I come...

Well kinda...If I pass the MEPS next week, the United States Air Force will have a new member!!! I wanted to wait until I pass everything and have "signed on the line" before I shared with you all but I couldn't. We had to jump a few hoops(dependency waiver) to get here so I am thrilled to be getting somewhere...For anyone who isn't sure about a dependency waiver, it is basically a form that my wife and I fill out that gives all parental rights to her. Then we had to get it approved by my recruiters' boss, then the squadron commander, and then the group commander. It took a few of months to get this done so we have been on pins and needles. Sooo...Wish me luck.

Active enlisted but I haven't decided on which "job" yet. I did well enough on the ASVAB to be eligible to take the cr.yptologist/linguist test at meps, so Ill probably take that to keep more options on the table.

Well...I passed MEPS(Military Entrance Processing Station) but I just missed passing the optional DLAB(Defense Language Aptitude Battery) by 4 points so linguist/ptology is out(after taking it the first time, I know it isn't for me)...although I could take it again if a job doesn't open up in the next six months. I basically made my list out as follows, top choice on down(all electronics)...I am really hoping to get one of the top three but would be happy with any of them.

                          F-15/F-111 Avionic Sys Apprentice
Avionics Test STN and CMPNT Apprentice (F-15 and F111)
                          F-16 Avionic Systems Apprentice
Aircraft Electrical and Environmental System Apprentice
                          Precision Measurement Equipment Lab Apprentice
