    "let there be light!" my Christmas present arrived way early..

    from Mary!...... very generous of her I might say.... parts dept told her two weeks or maybe three..... it was 3 days..LOL

    the GM optional transparent roof..

    cool thing is... it looks like the stock black roof from the outside:



    but from the inside.. you are looking through a soothing blue panel...... and its stal clear...like glass.. as you can see by the clouds and airplane con trails.. although i took this at 5pm this eve after installing it.. kinda dark out..

    I stored the O.E. roof for next summer.. this roof will let the car get too hot..its a winter/spring/fall roof for sure...





    its sitting in the garage with a second coat of zaino on it now... LOL...

    its an expensive option for sure... I elected not to get it when i ordered the car..
    but found Gene Cully's GM parts warehouse... on the vette forum...he had it for an awesome price.... i took the link to my dealer and negotiated the "some profit is better than no profit isn't it" game with them... they met that price and included the tax to boot... in fact, the roofs retail came out cheaper before the tax! that way..if there was a prob with it.... i could get the dealer to send it back and not go through the hassle myself.. im real happy..

              weather finally cleared up here and got to drive the vette with the new roof for the first time. I can't believe I was so stupid not to order this option when I got the car.. its absolutely awesome!!!

              The thing that amazes me is how it looks like the stock painted black roof on the outside... of course, it's got 3 layers of zaino's z5pro and zfx on it now...LOL...

                  I love how clear it is from the inside and totally blacked out on the outside.

                      yes..but im not going to get them. I'll just use the stock roof when it gets that hot.
