  • Guess i shoulda checked...

After recently moving to a different city, i was working on my car in the street. I have the car parked there up on jacks in front of my house. It was up on jacks for 3 days (couldn't work on it and didn't wanna fool with the jacks in the rain) and i got a $70 ticket.....$70.

    From the Department of Transportation
    Section 11.36.100 MC
    Repair on street prohibited

Can the DOT cite Municipal Code???

BOOOOOOO!!!! Boo to that! I never had a problem with Scotts Valley PD or Santa Cruz County Sheriff, but i've lived here in San Jose for a month now! Guess I should have checked city municipal code before tending my downed f-body. My registration is up to date too. It's not like i abandoned my vehicle on a person's property other than mine (the property of the city i guess)

Not worth stress and a headache to me if i try and fight it so im sending the payment.
For that ima leave them some victory marks on the street.

Around here, they would have impounded your car and you'd end up paying $300 for the tow and $200 for impound fees.

Same here. Some of our outlying towns are okay with it, but Danbury looks for money ANY way they can get it. Cars are the first order of income...

pushing 3284lbs up a driveway is all but fun...if anyone was wondering what it would be like.

Better to throw a bit of a party. It will cost you a case of beer and a few phone calls. Once everyone arrives, ask for a quick favor.

It's alot easier with 6 people pushing and you steering.

Exactly. Worth the effort. Just be sure to invite 6 friends who aren't beer snobs. A case of PBR cans is way cheaper than a case of Sam Adams bottles.
