Trans Am LSX - who, what, where ?

I saw this Trans Am "LSX" parked on a local street. I've never seen a hood with the screened Firebird logo before. It has side pipes and the engine bay is red as seen through the screened roof. I'm wondering who made this, what engine is used, and where it was made.

Doing a web search, I found this image of an engine bay labeled LSX, but I don't know if it's the same as the Trans Am I saw.
