I work in an office near DIFC, and last week my Mercedes C200 started cranking very slowly in the underground parking. By the third try it barely turned over. A colleague said it is the battery and told me to get a Varta D47, because he used one in his car and it lasted a long time. The problem is I do not know if that exact size fits my car, and I do not want to buy the wrong one and waste a day. I looked around for a Genuine Varta D47 battery in DIFC, but I could not tell which shops sell the real thing and which ones just say they do. How do you check if a battery is original? Is there a code or sticker on it that shows the date it was made? Also, my car has the start stop system, so does that change which battery I should buy? And after fitting, does the car computer need a reset, or is it done on its own? Another thing I wonder about is the warranty. Does it start from the day you buy it or from the date on the battery? I would like to know what you paid and how long yours lasted in this heat. Real experiences will help me much more than shop ads.
